NCSs being complex mixtures that are often very poorly water soluble and highly volatile, create special difficulties with the present test protocols which will require adaptation. Instead, the ecotoxicity was estimated using a QSAR and by read across from the constituents.

The combined toxicity of each NCS is calculated based on the ecotoxicity of the constituents according to the additivity formula in line with the NCS protocol (see attached file "formula.doc").
