Description of key information

Vapour pressure: 479 Pa at 20°C (2,4,6,8-tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane)
Vapour pressure: 0.05 Pa at 20°C (methylsilanetriol)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
479 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

An appropriate and validated QSAR model has been applied. A value of 479 Pa has been predicted at 20°C, this result is considered reliable and has been chosen as the key study. One measured value is available, from a study to which reliability could not be assigned, of 7.02 mm Hg at 20°C (930 Pa). This value is in satisfactory agreement with the key value.

The vapour pressure of the final hydrolysis product methylsilanetriol has been calculated using the same QSAR method.
