Description of key information

The substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to fish.
LC50 (96h) > 100 mg/L (nominal) for Brachydanio rerio (OECD 203)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute aquatic toxicity on the zebrafish Danio rerio was investigated in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 203 [Ciba, 2001]. Based on the low water solubility of the test item a saturated stock solution was prepared and the test was conducted as a limit test under semi-static conditions, with the nominal concentration of 100 mg/L. After 96 hours of exposure no toxic effects on fish were observed.

Addtionally, a second disregarded study (non-GLP and non-guideline) is available [CIBA-GEIGY Limited, 1978]. Due to its serious limitation it is not valid.
