Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the test item was investigated in a guideline study conducted in compliance with OECD 301 B (CO2 Evolution Test). Based on CO2 evolution, < 10% biodegradation of the test substance was observed after 28 days by domestic activated sludge (Ciba-Geigy Ltd., 1989).

Furthermore to support these findings two model calculations were conducted to assess the biodegradability. The EPI Suite v3.20 (BIOWIN Program v4.10) calculation resulted in "not readily biodegradable". Additionally, the biodegradation was calculated by using CATALOGIC v5.11.5 (BOD 28 days MITI (OECD 301C) v06.07). It resulted in ca. 14.91 % biodegradation after 28 d. Even though the structural domain was correct with only 43.18 % (56.82 % unknown) the results support the overall conclusion that the substance is likely to be persistent in the environment.
