Conclusion on classification

A classification of charcoal for toxic effects on the environment is not possible, since no information from relevant ecotoxicological studies is available. However, the low water solubility and the general absence of toxicity of charcoal observed in toxicological in vitro and in vivo studies suggest htat this compound is not toxic to the environment.
