Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Water accommodated fractions of hydrocarbons, C16-C20, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2 -30%) did not cause acute toxicity to fish at a nominal loading of 1000 mg/L with rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity of Hydrocarbons, C16-C20, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-30%), as measured by mortality to rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was evaluated in freshwater (Shell 1995, Shell 1983). Under the conditions of these studies, hydrocarbons, C16-C20, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-30%) did not produce acute lethal toxicity to Oncorhynchus mykiss at 1000 mg/L, based on nominal loading of the test substance in water.

A justification for the use of mentioned analogue substances for read-across is attached to IUCLID section 13.
