Description of key information

The pour point of hydrocarbons, C13-C20, n-alkanes, iso-alkanes, cyclics, 40-60% aromatics is in the range of -6 to -35 °C.

There are no data available on the melting point/freezing point for hydrocarbons, C13-C20, n-alkanes, iso-alkanes, cyclics, 40-60% aromatics. For hydrocarbon UVCBs it is not possible to determine a single melting point, instead the pour point is determined. Based on an analogue approach data are read-across to both, hydrocarbons, C14-C18, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-30%) and hydrocarbons, C16-C20, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-30%), in order to cover lower and upper ends of carbon range.

Data provided by ExxonMobil Chemical (2010a) and Petrochem Carless (2009a) show the pour point to be in the range of -18 to -35 °C at 1 atm, measured according to ASTM D5950 and ASTM D97, for hydrocarbons, C14-C18, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-30%). For hydrocarbons, C16-C20, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics (2-30%), data provided by ExxonMobil Chemical (2010b) and Petrochem Carless (2009b) show the pour point to be in the range of -6 to -30 °C at 1 atm, measured according to ASTM D5950 and ASTM D97.
