Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the test on oxidising properties (required in section 7.13) was not conducted as the test substance (tert.-Butylperoxy- 2-ethylhexanoat) is an organic peroxide for which the required test(s) are not applicable.

Tert.-Butylperoxy- 2-ethylhexanoat is classified as Organic Peroxide Type C with H242 (heating may cause a fire). According to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD), tert-butyl 2-ethylperoxyhexanoate is classified with R2 (Risk of explosion by shock, friction, fire or other sources of ignition) and R7 (May cause fire). According to Regulation 1272/2008/EC, tert.-Butylperoxy- 2-ethylhexanoat is classified only as Organic Peroxide Type C with H242 (Heating may cause a fire).
