Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance (monomer) is not manufactured within the EU, and is only imported as its reacted (covalently-bound) form in polymers (i.e., polyols) having typically < 0.2% wt. residual unreacted monomer. There is no known or expected mechanism by which degradation of these polymers could result in re-formation of the monomer substance. Therefore, direct and indirect exposures of the environment to this substance are highly improbable.  Acute testing with Dapnia magna showed no evidence of adverse effects from water accomodated fractions prepared from loadings up to 8,000 mg/L. Furthermore, the monomer substance is readily biodegradable, and by definition will not persist in the enviornment for sufficient length of time to present concerns for bioaccumulation and/or chronic eco-toxicity. Therefore, additional long-term toxicity testing with aquatic invertebrates is unnecessary.
