Description of key information

Calculated (preferred) values of log Pow for components of this UVCB mixture range from 3.9 to 8.6, which are consistent with an estimated log Pow for the bulk mixture of log Pow > 6.2.

Additional information

The octanol-water partition coefficient (i.e. log Pow) could not be measured directly (EEC Method A.8) for the mixture of components which comprise Methyl (polyhydroxymethyl) stearate. However, it was estimated for the bulk mixture, based on the ratio of its estimated solubilities in octanol and water. The calculated values of log Pow for the primary components of this mixture range from 3.9 to 8.6, and are the preferred basis for predictions of environmental distribution and bioaccumulation potential which are based on log Pow.
