Additional information

Only one publication performed on cyclopentanone metabolism is available (James and Waring, 1971). When Wistar rats and New-Zealand white rabbits were administered with 193 and 203 mg/kg bw cyclopentanone, cis-and trans-2-hydroxycyclopentylmercapturic acid and another unidentified sulphur-containing metabolite was excreted by both species. In addition for the rabbit, also cyclopentanol as the glycosiduronic acid derivate which is the major metabolite and as ethereal sulphate was found. Similar metabolites were observed in both species after a single cyclohexanone treatment.
