Abiotic degradation of the category members of the Long Chain Aliphatic Esters (LCAE) category members is not a relevant pathway. Since the substance is not likely to be present in the atmosphere, indirect photodegradation in air is not to be expected. Abiotic hydrolysis is not relevant, since the category members are readily biodegradable and thus expected to be eliminated through biodegradation in natural waters. Additionally, the estimated half-life for hydrolysis is very high (DT50 > 1 yr).
