Justification for classification or non-classification

Strontium hydroxide is void of any chemical structures commonly associated with explosive properties, such as metal peroxides, peroxo-acid-anions, azides, and halogen oxides (in accordance with section 1 , Annex XI of regulation (EC) 1907/2006). Further, it is noted that despite long-term industrial use of the substance, it is not classified for explosive properties according to UN transport regulations.

Therefore the substance does not have any properties which require classification as explosive according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
