Water solubility (EDTMP-xCaNa): approximately 253 g/l at 20°C (OECD 105)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
253 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The substance EDTMP-H (and its analogues) are known to be highly hydrophilic and extremely water-soluble. A measured water solubility of approximately 253 g/l at 20°C was determined for the substance in accordance with OECD 105. The result is considered reliable and selected as key study.

Phosphonate salts are highly water soluble and are supplied as aqueous solutions. Free acids are less soluble than the salts; however, aqueous solutions in excess of l % active material can be prepared. The aqueous salts are miscible in water. A water solubility value of 21000 mg/l was reported for the parent acid in a secondary source to which no reliability could be assigned. Also, in secondary sources to which no reliability could not be assigned, EDTMP-xCaNa was reported to be soluble in water and a loading rate of ca. 470 g/l was determined.
