A biodegradation study is available for terpenes and terpenoids, turpentine oil, alpha-pinene fraction, oligomers following OECD guideline 301F. Based on the results of this study the test item would not be considered to be readily biodegradable as only 8% degradation was attained over 28 days.

An adsorption / desorption study is available for terpenes and terpenoids, turpentine oil, alpha-pinene fraction, oligomers following OECD guideline 121 HPLC method. The study determined a log Koc of >5.37. It is therefore likely that terpenes and terpenoids, turpentine oil, alpha-pinene fraction, oligomers will adsorb to soil and sediment.
