Conclusion on classification

 Acute aquatic toxicity:

48 h, EC50 (Daphnia magna): 125.5 mg/L (nominal concentration)

72 h, ErC50 (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): 51.9 mg/L (nominal concentration)

Aquatic chronic toxicity:

72 h, NOEC (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): 25 mg/L (nominal concentration)

Biodegradation: readily biodegradable, failing the 10-day window: 61.2 % after 28 days (% degradation O2 consumption, OECD 301 D)

Partition coefficient: log Kow = 5.05 at 25 °C (QSAR)

Classification according to CLP

The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. The test substance was found to be readily biodegradable but failing the 10-day window under the test conditions. Algae were the most sensitive species after exposure to Sika Hardener LG, with a 72-h EC50 (growth rate) of 51.9 mg/L and NOEC of 25 mg/L. Based on these results, the substance is not classified for short-term (acute) aquatic toxicity but is classified for long-term (chronic) aquatic toxicity as Cat. 3 according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the fifteenth time in Regulation (EU) 2020/1182.
