Description of key information

Waiving of studies:
Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, Sika Hardener LG is not considered highly flammable and therefore no experimental determination of flammability properties is carried out.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The chemical structure of Sika Hardener LG indicates that there are no groups associated with flammability or pyrophoric properties. Further, experience in handling and use does neither indicate flammability upon contact with water nor pyrophoric properties. As Sika Hardener LG is a liquid at 20 °C and normal pressure, a flash point of 195.5 +/- 0.7 °C at 1013.25 hPa was determined for Sika Hardener LG, using a non-equilibrium method (Pensky-Martens apparartus) (see: Section 4.11).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the determined flash point (195.5 °C, Key study) and evaluations of the substance flammability and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) and Regulation 1272/440/EC (CLP), Sika Hardener LG was not classified and labelled as flammable.
