Description of key information

The acute toxicity to fish (danio rerio) was tested in a static test. After 96 hours of exposure a LC0 of >/= 98.0 mg/L was measured.

Additional information

Should read: >/= 98 mg/L

A study was performed to assess the acute toxicity of the substance todanio rerio under static conditions. The study was conducted in accordance with Council Directive 92/69/EEC C.1 "Acute Toxicity for Fish"; Official Journal of the EC L 383 Part A/163 (1992) which is in most parts identical to the OECD guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 203 "Fish, Acute Toxicity Test" (1992).

An acute daphnia range finding toxicity test preceded the fish test and provided information about the range of concentrations which were used in the fish test. The following nominal concentration of the test item was tested in the daphnia range finding test: 100 mg/L.

Because of the anticipated low toxicity of the test item, fish were exposed in the fish test to a limit test concentration of nominally 100 mg/L for a period of 96 hours. Analytical monitoring with DOC was performed.

Control and test fish exhibited normal swimming behaviour throughout the test period.

This study is classified acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirements for the acute fish.
