The primary ready biodegradability test showed no degradation after 28 days at an initial concentration of 50 mg/L and the re-inoculation test also showed no degradation after 28 days at an initial concentration of 20 mg/L and therefore 1,1 -dimethylheptanethiol is considered to be not readily biodegradable. Clarke (2011) is a GLP-compliant, manometric respirometry test following OECD guideline 301F. Following REACH Guidance Chapter R7b, the study was modified to use soil and activated sludge from a wastewater treatment facility in a composite microbial inoculum.
