Description of key information

The flammability test was performed following the EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

12-Ketochenodeoxycholic acid did not ignite, but the solid sample slowly melted when the Bunsen burner flame came close, turning yellow. The substance did not propagate combustion. According to the experimental results, 12-ketochenodeoxycholic acid is not a highly flammable substance.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance did not propagate combustion and the burning time was > 120 seconds, therefore the substance is not classified as Flammable Solid according to Regulation 1272/2008/EC.
