Additional information

Acute aquatic toxicity data indicate that 1,3 -diphenyl-2 -thiourea is toxic to both invertebrates and algae. It may be harmful or slightly harmful to fish.

Chronic data are available for daphnia and algae, with both EC10 comprised between 0.1 and 1 mg/L. In addition, 1,3 -diphenyl-2 -thiourea is not readily biodegradable. Based on these data, DPTU should be classified according to regulation EC 1272/2008 as H411, toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
