Description of key information

This endpoint is waived: Viscosity is only applicable for liquids. The substance is a solid.

Based on visual inspection and read across, the viscosity of a 28% EDG-Na2 aqueous solution is expected to be between 2-10 mPa.s.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The commercial product Dissolvine EDG (28% EDG-Na2 aqueous solution with pH 11 -12) shows a relatively low viscosity which is expected to be only slightly higher than that of water (which has a viscosity of 1.0 mPa.s at 20°C).

Read across: The viscosity of the commercial product Dissolvine CSA (30% sodium glucoheptonate aqueous solution with pH 7.5-9) is 5.8 mPas at a temperature of 20°C.
