Description of key information

Method A.5 Surface tension, Directive 92/69/EEC, published in OJ No L 383A, December 1992, using the OECD harmonized ring method for the measurement (Part 1.6.4.).
GLP study.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
66.6
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1

Additional information

The surface tension of the test substance was measured.

The test substance was dissolved to the concentration of 1 g/L and surface tension was measured by ring method with Surface tensiometer.

The test substance, Humic acids, sodium salts, at test concentration of 1 g/L shows corrected surface tension of 66.6 mN/m at 20 ºC (± 0.5ºC ).

As the surface tension is higher than 60 mN/m, test substance should not be regarded as a surface-active material.
