Description of key information

A study was conducted to determine the toxicity of the test substance to aquatic algae. Exposure of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata to the test item gave ErC50 value of 7.6 mg /L based on growth rate. The 72 hours EC10 based on growth rate was determined to be 2.4 mg /L.

Additional information

This study was done to determine the toxicity of the test substance to aquatic algae. Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (CCAP 278/4) was exposed to the test substance at 1.0, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100 mg /L (six replicate flasks) for 72 hours, under constant illumination and shaking at a temperature of 24 ±1 °C. During this time, the cell density of the algae was measured. EC20 and EC50 values based on growth rate were found as 3.7, 7.6 mg/L, respectively, whilst EC20 and EC50 values based on yield were found as 2.9, 3.2 mg/L, respectively. The 72 hours ErC10 was 2.4 mg /L, while the EyC10 was 2.8 mg /L.
