Conclusion on classification

Short term toxicity values of three trophic levels are available (fish, Daphnia and algae). The lowest effect concentration which was determined in the study on short-term toxicity to fish revealed a value of 96h-LC50 = 56.2 mg/L. Further C.I. Direct Blue 264 has a Log Kow <-0.2 and based on read-across C.I. Direct Blue 264 is considered to be 'not readily biodegradable'.

As a conclusion C.I. Direct Blue 264 has to be classified as hazardous to the aquatic environment (Aquatic Chronic 3, H412: Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects.) according to GHS.
