Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not irritating
Executive summary:

The skin irritating potential of methylpentynol was assessed in an OECD 404 guideline study. Three White Vienna rabbits receiced 0.5 mL undiluted test substance on the shaved skin. The exposure duration was 4 h under semiocclusive conditions (then washing off). The skin reactions were examined 4, 24, 48 & 72 h post treatment. The mean scores of erythema and edema were 0.1 and 0 in three rabbits 24, 48 and 72 h after application. The observed effects were fully reversible within 72 hours. Based on these findings methylpentynol is considered to be non irritating to the rabbit skin.
