Based on QSAR calculations for the components of 2-Butenedioic acid (E)-, di-C8-18-alkyl esters (CAS 68610-90-2) using AOPWIN v1.92, the substance is susceptible to indirect photodegradation in air. The estimated half time for the reaction with OH-radicals is calculated to be in the range of 6.81 - 14.08 hours (24 h day; OH-concentration: 0.5E+06 OH/cm3). However, photodegradation is not expected to be an important environmental fate process since the components of the substance are not expected to evaporate into the atmosphere due to their low vapor pressures of < 0.001 Pa at 20 °C.
