Additional information

The water solubility of the test item 1,2,3-propanetriol, mono- and diformates was determined in accordance with OECD guideline 105. In a stepwise procedure, increasing volumes of water were added to approximately 0.1 g of the sample in a 10 ml glass-stoppered measuring cylinder at room temperature. After each addition of a specific amount of water, the mixture was shaken for 10 minutes and was visually checked for any undissolved parts of the sample.

The 0.1 g sample was completely dissolved in 0.1 ml water. Therefore the test was also carried out with a 100 g sample in 100 ml water. The visual check showed only one clear phase and no emulsion. The pH of the solution was 2.4.

The water solubility of the test item 1,2,3-propanetriol, mono- and diformates is 1000 g/L at room temperature.
