Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The vapour pressure of the test item indicates that this substance has a low potential for volatilization into the air (0.0985 Pa at 20 °C). The Henry’s Law Constant of << 1 Pa m³/mole (calculated from water solubility and vapour pressure) shows that 1,2,3-propanetriol, mono-and diformates is not expected to evaporate easily from the water phase, significant accumulation in air and the subsequent transport to other environmental compartments is not anticipated.

Hydrolysis test results (OECD 111) indicate that 1,2,3-propanetriol, mono- and diformates quickly hydrolyses to glycerol and formic acid with an DT50 value < 30 h at pH 7 and 20 °C. Thus, hydrolysis is a relevant abiotic degradation pathway for the test item.
