Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Dodecene, hydroformylation products, high-boiling is with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The effects of Dodecene, hydroformylation products, high-boiling on toxicity to aquatic algae was investigated in a GLP study according to the OECD guideline 201 using Desmodesmus subspicatus as test species. Since the test substance is a mixture that is poorly soluble in water the study was performed according to the OECD guidance document 23 and the toxic effects of the test substance were determined in a water accommodated fraction of the test substance. Based on growth rate the NOEC was determined to be ≥ 100 mg/L (nominal). Since the study was designed as a limit test, EC values could not be calculated [BASF 2009].
