In order to ensure proper interpretation of the endothermic effect in the DSC curve, additional TGA measurements were performed. In the DSC-measurement an endothermic effect was visible. This could be not a melting effect, because TGA showed a weight loss (furthermore, the test item was liquid at room temperature). An evaporation could be excluded, because a partial encapsulated AL-crucible was used. The TGA curve showed a weight loss of almost 100 % in a single step; this peak was characteristic for a boiling effect and not a decomposition. Altogether, the test item showed at 1009 hPa an area of boiling temperatures (as defined in the EC Guideline A.2) from 389 to 454 °C.
