As nitrogen trifluoride is a gas, the oral route of exposure is not relevant

Justification for selection of effect on neurotoxicity via inhalation route endpoint:

No regulatory guideline studies on the neurotoxicity of NF3 have been undertaken. In the 90-day repeat dose inhalation studies in the rat (section 5.6.1.2) there were no behavioural observations which might suggest an effect of NF3 on the nervous system and there were no histopathological changes in the CNS.
