Description of key information

The adsorption coefficient can not be determined for technical reasons.

Additional information

- The water solubility of Lithium titanium oxide is <0.25 mg / L at 20 °C, not sufficient to perform a batch test.

- The test substance is an inorganic compound. There is no method to distinguish between the different species of Li or Ti possibly generated in the aqueous phase or adsorbed on the soil and its parent compound.

- The water solubility of Lithium titanium oxide is depending on the loading rate. The water solubility of the complete compound is significantly higher if it is calculated from the Li-results compared to the Ti-results. This is interpreted either that not the unchanged test substance dissolves in water or that soluble impurities are present.

- Therefore the pre-conditions for applying the EU- or OECD-methods are not fulfilled.

- The calculation of the adsorption coefficient from the octanol-water partition coefficient is not possible because the calculation is not applicable to inorganic compounds.
