- No control mortality was observed.
Results with reference substance (positive control):
KCl:
7 day LC50: 6340 +/- 665 mg/kg soil dw
14 day LC50: 6030 +/- 689 mg/kg soil dw

2-Chloroacetamide:
7 day LC50: 33.3 +/- 12.1 mg/kg soil dw
14 day LC50: 33.1 +/- 11.7 mg/kg soil dw
Reported statistics and error estimates:
LC50 with 95% Confidence Interval was calculated with trimmed Spearman-Karber Method.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Remarks:
control survival > 90%
Conclusions:
In a 14-d acute earthworm toxicity test according to US EPA/600/3-88/029, Eisenia fetida worms were exposed to ammonium chloride in artificial soil and effects on survival were assessed after 7 and 14 days. The 14 d LC50 for ammnonium chloride amounts to 163 mg/kg soil dw (nominal, analytically verified), which corresponds to a 14 d LC50 of 54 mg NH4/kg soil dw (nominal) for ammonium.
