Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media: Use multi-purpose powders, CO2, foam, dry chemical or water spray

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water spray jet

Flash Point and method: >110 °C closed cup

Explosive limits in air: Upper : Not available; Lower : Not available.

Auto-ignition temperature: Not available.

Sensitivity to mechanical impact/static discharge: Not available.

Special Protective Equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 133) and full protective equipment comprising: suitable protective gloves, safety
goggles and protective clothing.

Other Fire Fighting Considerations: Contain the extinguishing fluids by bunding (the product is hazardous for the environment). Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautions: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and respiratory system. Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation. If spillage occurs on the public highway, indicate the danger and notify the authorities (police, fire brigade).

Environmental Precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not allow uncontrolled discharge of product into the environment. Contain the spilled material by bunding.

Procedures for Spill/Leak Clean-up: Shovel or sweep up. Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Wash non-recoverable remainder with large amounts of water. Recover the cleaning water for subsequent disposal. Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal plant. The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil.

Handling and storage

Handling : Handle in accordance with good hygiene and safety procedures. Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation, ingestion and contact with skin and eyes. Do not handle without gloves. Do not mix with incompatible materials.

Storage : Keep in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Store in original container. Keep tightly closed. Take all necessary measures to avoid accidental discharge of products into drains and waterways due to the rupture of containers or transfer systems. Store away from heat. Do not mix with incompatible materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection:
Use a respirator with an approved filter if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.

Hand protection:
Glove material: Neoprene gloves
Protective index Class 6
Break through time: > 480 min
Glove thickness: 1,8 mm
The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.

Eye protection:
Tightly fitting safety goggles

Skin and body protection:
Impervious clothing and safety shoes
Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.
Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Hygiene measures:
Emergency equipment immediately accessible, with instructions for use.
Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing.
Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment.
Store personal protection equipment in a clean location away from the work area.
Keep working clothes separately.

Selection of appropriate personal protective equipment should be based on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the protective equipment relative to the task(s) to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the potential hazards and/or risks that may occur during use.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: Stable under normal operational procedures.
Conditions to Avoid: Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
Materials to Avoid: Strong oxidizing agents and strong acids.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: On combustion or on thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) releases: (Carbon oxides (CO + CO2)) and Nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Disposal considerations

Disposal is to be performed in accordance with local and national regulations. Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal plant. Do not dispose of via drains, water courses or the soil.
