Skin irritation/corrosion

The skin irritation/corrosion potential of the test substance was evaluated in vivo in New Zealand White rabbits in a semiocclusive test according to the EU Method B.4 (92/69/EEC) and in compliance with GLP.

The substance was found as non-skin irritant

Eye irritation

The eye irritation/corrosion potential of the test substance was evaluated in vivo in New Zealand White rabbits in acute eye irritation/corrosion test according to the EU Method B.5 (92/69/EEC) and in compliance with GLP. All the three animals did not show any sign of cornea opacity, iris damage, conjunctivae redness and chemosis.

The substance was found as non-eye irritant

Justification for classification or non-classification

Skin irritation/corrosion

All the three animals showed very slight erythema and desquamation but no signs of oedema. The changes, however, were fully reseversible and no corrosive effects were observed. Therefore, the test substance shall not be classified as skin irritant or skin corrosive according to the CLP Regulation EC No. 1272/2008.

Eye irritation

All the three animals did not show any sign of cornea opacity, iris damage, conjunctivae redness and chemosis. Therefore, the substance shall not be classified as eye irritant or eye corrosive according to the CLP Regulation EC No. 1272/2008.
