Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

During the cooling phase a sharp exothermic effect was observed in the temperature range of 15 °C to -5 °C, which can be associated with the freezing of the test item. As the onset temperatures in both tests deviate by more than 0.5 K from their mean value of  -10.62 °C, a freezing range has to be specified. The test item has a freezing range of 12 °C to -9 °C. During the heating phase a distinct endothermic effect was observed in the temperature range of 0 °C to 15 °C, which can be associated with the melting of the test item. As the onset temperatures in both tests deviate by more than 0.5 K from their mean value of  2.55 °C, a melting range has to be specified. The test item has a melting range of  1 °C to 3 °C

Conclusions:
The test item Diethyl Sebacate Lot 1727003 has a melting range of 1 °C to 3 °C at atmospheric pressure (986 – 1011 hPa) as determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.1. and OECD Test Guideline 102 (1995).
Executive summary:

For that endpoint, one reliable study performed on the registered substance and according to the OECD 102 guideline was available.

Under the experimental conditions, the melting point of the sample " DIETHYL SEBACATE Lot 1727003" is between 1 and 3°C at atmospheric pressure (986 – 1011 hPa) and was determined by differential scanning calorimetry.

The validity criteria were successful and the study was therefore regarded as acceptable for that endpoint.
