100 % of calcium titanate particles were within a distribution range of 0.8 to 208.9 μm. Surface Weighted Mean (D(3,2) = 2.930 μm and Volume Weighted Mean D(4,3) = 4.916 μm.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The median particle size of the sample of calcium titanate, based on a volumetric size distribution, was determined to be D(0.5) = 3.439 μm. The light scattering data demonstrates that 100 % of particles are present in a distribution range of approximately 0.8 to 208.9 μm.
Executive summary:

The particle size distribution (granulometry) of a sample of calcium titanate (non nano) was calculated using a Mastersizer 2000E with a Hydro 2000MU (A) dispersion unit v5.60 (Malvern Instruments Ltd., Serial No. MAL102043). This technology uses a laser scattering technique to capture a light scattering pattern and generate a fundamental distribution of the size of particles in the sample, which is volume-based. Raw data is analysed / interpreted in line with the Fraunhofer model and Mie theory.

100 % of calcium titanate particles were found to exist in a distribution range of 0.8 to 208.9 μm, and the median particle size of the volume distribution or Mass Median Diameter (D(0.5)), which is the size in microns at which 50 % of the sample is smaller and 50 % is larger, was determined to be 3.439 μm. The Volume Weighted Mean (D(4,3)) and Surface Weighted Mean (D(3,2)) was calculated to be 2.930 and 4.916 μm, respectively. As the weighted residual was < 1 % (0.886 %), it can be decided that the calculated data was a good fit to the measurement data.
