Aquatic toxicity tests with TMA-Tempo are available for two trophic levels (Algae and invertebrates). In the acute toxicity test with D. magna according to TG OECD 202, no immobilisation has been observed after exposure with the test substance for 48 h. Therefore, the EC50 for daphnia has been determined to >100 mg/L. The toxicity test with algae revealed an EC50 (72 h) >100 mg/L and an NOEC (72 h) of 31.3 mg/L based on growth rate.

The test substance is not biodegradable under the tested conditions according to TG OECD 301B. TMA-Tempo does not need to be classified as harmful for aquatic organisms based on the available data according to CLP regulation EC No. 1272/2008 and UN GHS regulation.
