Description of key information

The reaction mass of cyclododecanol and cyclododecanone has a vapor pressure between 0.52 Pa and 0.71 Pa at 20 °C, depending on the cyclododecanol / cyclododecanone ratio.

Additional information

The vapor pressure of cyclododecanol was measured at temperatures between 131.5 °C and 278.0 °C (normal boiling point) leading to a regular vapor pressure curve. A value of 0.52 Pa at 20 °C was obtained by extrapolation. The vapor pressure of cyclododecanone was measured at temperatures between 135.6 and 290.8 °C with the static method leading to a regular vapor pressure curve. A value of 0.71 Pa at 20 °C was obtained by extrapolation. The reaction mass of cyclododecanol and cyclododecanone therefore has a vapor pressure between 0.52 Pa and 0.71 Pa at 20°C, depending on the cyclododecanol / cyclododecanone ratio. Due to the structural similarity of the constituents, no significant irregularities in vaporization behavior are expected.
