Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
29 July to 13 August 2010
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Read-across from an analogue substance for which a guideline study (Klimish =1) is available.
Justification for type of information:
REPORTING FORMAT FOR THE ANALOGUE APPROACH
See attached reporting format.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
Key result
Duration:
72 h
Dose descriptor:
NOELR
Effect conc.:
100 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
growth rate
Remarks:
and yield
Remarks on result:
other: Based on the read-across from an analogue substance
Conclusions:
Based on the read-across from an analogue substance, the 72h- No Effect Loading Rate of the target substance in green algae was determined to be 100 mg/l loading rate WAF.
Executive summary:

A study was performed to assess the effect of an analogue substance on the growth of the green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus. The method followed that described in the OECD guideline 201 and was conducted in accordance to GLP standards. The No Observed Effect Loading Rate of the test subtance was 100 mg/l loading rate WAF (Water Accommodated Fractions) based on growth rate and yield. Based on the read-across approach, the 72h-NOELR of the target subtance was determined to be 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

Description of key information

Key study: Test method according to OECD 201. GLP study. Based on the read-across approach the 72h-NOELR of the substance was determined to be 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.
