Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Melting point:
1) 13-14°C (no information on atm. pressure available; handbook data)
2) 11-13°C (no information on atm. pressure available; peer-reviewed internet database)
3) 13.5°C (No data available for atm. pressure; Authoritative secondary source)
4) 13-14°C (No data available for atm. pressure; publication)
5) 23.03°C (QSAR estimation, MPBPWIN v1.43 (EPIWIN software) by US-EPA (2012))

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
13 °C

Additional information

There are four published values available for the melting point of 3 -Acetypyridin, all assessed with reliability 2. Those values are very similar, only varying 3 degrees Celsius, allowing the conclusion that the real value can be taken as 13°C. The only derivating values is derived by QSAR estimation, which can so be regarded to a lesser extent, leaving 13°C as the proper value for further risk assessment.
