Description of key information

OECD Guideline no. 117: "Partition coefficient (1989); EEC directive 92/69 EEC, Part A, A.8 (1992)

Methods used: Estimation (solubility octanol/water) and HPLC (retention time).

Results:

Based on the estimation method, the partition coefficient of ADK STAB NA-11 is 6.9 (log Pow= 0.8) at 20°C and pH 7.5.

Based on the HPLC method, the partition coefficient of the organic part of ADK STAB NA-11 was determined to be >1.6*10 E6 (log Pow > 6.2) at 21.5 ± 0.5°C and at pH 1 (NA-11 in its non ionized form).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
0.8
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

log Pow = 0,8 at pH 7,5/20°C, NA-11 is ionized, this form is the one, which exist under naturally relevant pH conditions.

logPow > 6,2 at pH 1/21,5°C, NA-11, NA-11 is not ionized, thus the Pow is much higher. It might play a role regarding oral uptake, regarding the pH milieu within the stomach.
