Description of key information

In accordance with REACH Annex XI, the study is not technically feasible because the test substance rapidly hydrolyzes in water to form sodium borate/boric acid and hydrogen gas with a half-lives ranging from seconds to minutes at environmentally relevant pHs. Thus, the compound cannot bioaccumulate due to its short environmental half-life. Boric acid has a low potential for bioaccumulation due to its high water solubility (49 g/L) and low log Kow (-1.09).
