Description of key information

Key study: GUIDELINE 202, GLP study. No immobilized animal observed. EC50 > 100 mg/L (48 h).

Key study: GUIDELINE 201, GLP study. In 72 hours, measured EC50 value was >  98.0 mg test item /L, NOEC value 28.8 mg test item /L and LOEC egual to 98.0 mg test item /L

for the growth and yield rate. EC10 (growth) > 98 mg test item/L and EC10 (yield) egual to 79.6 mg test item/L. The yield inhibition and growth inhibition are observed in the concentration > 98 mg test item/L.

Key study: GUIDELINE 203,GLPstudy, The test item does not cause the mortality at the concentrations 100 mg test item/L. LC50 (96h) >100 mg/L.

Additional information

Key study TOXICITY TO FISH

In accordance with OECD guideline 203 and GLP study, the test item was tested to demostrate that it has no toxic effect on the test fish up to the threshold concentration of 100 mg test item/L. The single-concentration test (limit test) was performed. Two treatment group were used in the study. The acute toxicity to unfed juvenile Rainbow Trout was determined in an aerated, semi static, 96-hour test. The tested fish were observed after 2, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours test duration for sublethal effects and mortality. The samples of the test medium were analysed via HPLC-method. In the control and the only test concentration of 100 mg test item/L, all fish survived until the end of the experiment. It was observed after 96 hours that two fish were mainly on the bottom. The LC50 (96h) >100 mg/L.

Key study: TOXICITY TO AQUATIC INVERTEBRATES

The study was carried out with principles of GLP studies - OECD Guidelines 202. Twenty Daphnia magna (<24 h old, 5 per replicate) were exposed to the control medium and 100 mg test item /L for 48 hours under static conditions. The immobility of the Daphnia was determined by visual observation 24 and 48 hours after the start of the test. There were no observed any immobilized animal. All validity criteria were within acceptable limits and therefore the study are considered valid. Observed endpoints: EC50 and EC10 > 100 (after 24 and 48 hours), NOEC and LOEC = 100 (after 24 and 48 hours).

Key study: TOXICITY TO ALGAE

The green algae growth inhibition test was performed according to OECD Guideline 201 (GLP study). The initial density of 1 x 105 cells/mL Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed to geometric mean measured concentrations for 72 hours under static conditions. The number of algal cells was determined by spectrophotometric measurement after 24, 48, and 72 hours of the exposure. The growth rate and yield were calculated. After 24 hours until the end of the test, the test item caused colouration of the test medium in the nominal concentrations 32 and 100 mg test item/L. After 48 hours the test item caused colouration of the test medium in the nominal concentration 10 mg test item/L. The results: In 72 hours, measured EC50 value was > 98.0 mg test item /L, NOEC value 28.8 mg test item /L and LOEC egual to 98.0 mg test item /L for the growth and yield rate. EC10 (growth) > 98 mg test item/L and EC10 (yield) egual to 79.6 mg test item/L. The yield inhibition and growth inhibition are observed in the concentration > 98 mg test item/L.
