Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

Data are available on the toxicity to earthworms and resulted in no toxicity up to the highest concentration tested (1000 mg/kg). Also, a scarce number of tests with terrestrial organisms are available for the category member D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl glycosides and resulted in no toxicity to the earthworm Eisenia foetida and terrestrial plants at the highest concentration tested (654 mg/kg). Toxic effects of the substance to terrestrial arthropods are unlikely to occur. Since the substance is readily biodegradable, an indirect exposure via deposition of activated sludge to soil can be ruled out and it has low potential to adsorb to soil because of its log Koc. A chronic exposure can be excluded. Toxic effects to terrestrial arthropods are not expected and no test is required. The PNEC for the risk assessment was calculated from the available data.
