Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
51 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
51 mg/L

Additional information

One study investigating the toxicity of D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, butyl glycoside to freshwater green algae is available. In this key study performed according to OECD 201 and GLP, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was exposed to nominal concentrations of 1, 10, and 100 mg/L of a 51% solution in a static test design. Analytical verificaton of the highest test substance concentration was achieved by TOC measurement and resulted in 87.3 to 98.9 % recovery of TOC. No effects were observed in any treatment, therefore an ErC50 (72 h) value of > 100 mg/L was reported, equivalent to > 51 mg a.i./L, the highest concentration tested (Institut Technologique FCBA, 2010).
