Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Significant accumulation in organisms is not to be expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance consists of both an organic pigment (CAS 147-14-8) and a tensid (dodecylbenzylsulfonic acid). The organic pigment is neither well soluble in water (4 - 9 µg/L) nor in octanol (0.1 -0.4 µg/L). Therefore bioaccumulation of this pigment is not expected (logPow -1.95 to -1.0). The tensid, is also not bioaccumulative in organisms since the BCFs for surfactants are reported as being comparatively low and are generally below the conventional level of concern (McWilliams & Payne, 2001). Commercial LAS, C11.6 alkyl chain length, has a BCF of 66 l/kg (Tolls et al. 1997).
