Description of key information

Two reliable studies were available for the acute toxicity to fish endpoint. The recent study by Squance (2018) is Klimisch 1 and comprises a limit test using Oncorhynchus mykiss. The LL50 was determined to be > 100 mg/l WAF nominal loading rate. The NOELR was 100 mg/l WAF. The study by Scholz (1994) exposed Danio rerio to a single concentration of the test item in which no mortality was also observed. The mean test concentration and LC50 was calculated to be > 82 mg/l and a NOEC of 82 mg/l. The key study (Squance, 2018) with a LL50 of >100 mg/l and NOELR of 100 mg/l are taken as the key values for risk assessment, however, the test substance is not toxic to aquatic organisms at the limit of solubility.
