- Hop extract is typically a highly viscous resin. It generally requires heating to make it freely mobile. The susbtance is a UVCB. The only volatile hydrocarbon content is the hop essential oil. This can vary from 0 - 40% m/m. The hop essential oils are in a UVCB mixture together with resinous bitter acids, fats, waxes and polyphenols. Hence the hop extract as a whole is not an aspiration hazard.
